Mid-Parental Height Method
Genetics is the strongest factor in determining height. The Mid-Parental method calculates a target height by averaging the parents' heights and adding/subtracting a constant based on the child's gender.
The Formula
- For Boys: (Father's Height + Mother's Height + 5 inches) / 2
- For Girls: (Father's Height + Mother's Height - 5 inches) / 2
- Most children will reach an adult height within 4 inches of this estimation.

Can I increase my predicted height?
Proper nutrition, sleep, and exercise during puberty can help a child reach their maximum genetic potential, but you cannot exceed your genetic ceiling.
